Let your teacher be love itself —Rumi

Yoga sutras Book 1: 23-29 speak of the Inner Divine Teacher (Isvara)  and how we can become attuned to Its direction.   Patanjali writes that there is only one “teacher of all teachers” and we might even say that that teacher Is US since Yoga is the realization of our oneness on the level of the mind/spirit.  As Rumi commands, that teacher must be of the nature of love itself or else we’d be listening to a teacher that was working against its own interests.

Learning to distinguish the voice of Love from the other voices in our heads is the goal of  Isvara Pranidhana.  When we admit that we don’t always know what is best for us, (much less for anyone else!) we can surrender the judgment of the ego and let the clear voice for unity and love emerge.

Description:
10  hour workshop to include yoga sutras, full spectrum asana, pranayama.

Yoga sutras Book 1: 23-29 speak of the Inner Divine Teacher and how we can become attuned to Its direction.  We will use these sutras as our guide for discussion and practice throughout the weekend.

Schedule:
Friday 6-8 PM:  Yoga sutras will continue the discussion of  Isvara Pranidhana throughout the weekend;  Restorative yoga, Pranayama and meditation
Saturday 10-1:  Yoga sutras,  Asana with a balance/core theme
Saturday 3-5:   Yoga sutras,  Asana with inversion and forward bend theme, pranayama, and meditation
Sunday 10-1:  Yoga sutras,  Asana with backbend theme, restorative finish
